Based on the information I've learned in this unit, I will now be more prepared to know what types of things to research if I'm given the opportunity to choose my course book such as price, methodology, difficulty, etc. I am now more knowledgable about the advantages and disadvantages of course books, and how to supplement for the disadvantages by adapting and creating my own materials if necessary. It makes the class more interesting and relevant to the students to bring in authentic materials for them to study and learn from as well. I think that just as much as it could get boring for students if we strictly adhere to the course book, it would be just as boring for me as a teacher to not explore other new and more interesting ways to teach a language point.
