Until this lesson, I would never have realized the different ways in which you need to go about choosing a vocab word. It does make sense to me that students can understand more than they can actively use; I found this to be the case when learning another language in school. I never knew interaction was one way that students would need to know about the word; and the same goes with forms and patterns when teaching grammar.
