The second lesson gives a clear indication of the right things to do: introduce yourself, and ask the students for their names, have a clear idea of the objective, involve students, be more interactive, praise for good performance, and don't immediately criticize the not-so-good performers but instruct them gently (by example) of the right things to say. Get team involvement wherever possible to keep class interaction high and boredom low.
