Focusing on productive skills, this unit formed a natural fit with the previous unit on receptive skills. It became clearer as I worked through this material that there is a complex and mutually supportive relationship between both sets of skills. I began to see how reading (a receptive skill) could enhance writing (a productive skill). Likewise, listening creates opportunities to enhance pronunciation while speaking.
Personally, I found the activities for an ESA lesson geared toward creative writing much more difficult to plan and list. I will need to prepare and practice this sort of lesson plan with greater focus to become effective at it.
