More often than not, teaching a new language poses a challenge to everyone. This unit not only identified and defined three essential topics; vocabulary, grammatical structures and language functions but also gave appropriate examples for each topics. Teaching vocabulary is especially important to young students who are just learning the language for this provides them with basic words they can use in speaking the language. Not only did I learn about the criteria in selecting vocabulary but the techniques and strategies for teaching vocabulary as well. The same goes with grammatical structures and language functions. I believe it was really helpful to know these techniques by heart and be able to apply them in real classroom setting.
