The unit gives an overview about the kinds of test for evaluating students. There are tests (placement, diagnostic) that are conducted at the beginning of a course, periodically throughout to test the student's progress (practice), and at the end of a class (external exams). General external examinations include TOEFl, IELTS, TOEIC and the Cambridge Assessments, such as KET, PET, FCE, CAE, and CPE for testing general English skills.
