With this unit, I was able to get a different perspective on the classroom. Whether students are working alone or in a group can determine how effective a lesson is and during which phase of the lesson the grouping fall in. Depending on the size of the class and age are just two factors that determine how you are going to arrange the desks in the classroom. Each desk set up is helpful depending on the lesson that is being given and allows the teacher to take on a more dominant or passive role in the classroom during the lesson. I learned to remember to use language that is appropriate to the level the students are at and to reduce the amount of time giving instructions allowing the students more talk time.
