This unit focuses on teaching productive skills (writing and speaking). These two are quite different in diverse ways but mainly used for communication purposes. I got to learn that speaking in the classroom can be divided into controlled, guided and creative activities with each of them having a particular goal. A lot of techniques also have to go into encouraging the students to speak as this is very vital in building the students' confidence. The often neglected skill (writing) was also discussed where a typical ESA creative writing activity lesson was illustrated. The importance of Games and a few examples of them were shown too.
