The unit gives an overview about the speaking and writing production skills, i.e., the reasons and importance to use them. It shows the difference between speaking accuracy and fluency activities, and gives examples on how to teach those skills, for example, by controlled or guided activities. It gives an example on how to structure a typical speaking activities and what to do in the different engage, study, and activate phases. The unit also outlines about important parameters in teaching writing skills, such as spelling and punctuation.
