The receptive skills are basic skills to be taught to students. These are skills that involves the students in the teaching-learning process. I have learned that reading and listening skills are both important, not reading is more important than listening or listening is more important than reading. As a teacher, knowing the importance of teaching receptive skills will help me to be effective in teaching my students especially in engaging them to the lesson or topics to be discussed in a day.
