Diagnostic tests are a very good way to assess students and I after reading this unit feel that it should be done at the start of every grade level in schools. This will give the new language teacher a very clear picture of where the students stand in her class and which skills should she focus on in the academic year. I also feel that progress testing should be done on a regular basis in small chunks as well as on a cumulative level at the end of term.
