This unit was informative as I have never studied how to teach vocabulary and grammar. I know how to teach the rules but now can understand what to think about when selecting vocabulary -- what to focus on and explain to the students when presenting it. I will also make sure my lesson plans cover all aspects of what students need to know about grammar, vocabulary, and language functions. Language functions were new to me, and while I would teach them, I had no idea they had a particular term. Also, the activity ideas for each stage of each category of language was very, very helpful.
