In this unit, I learned that the ESA, or engage, study, activate technique, is often considered the most effective way to teach English as a foreign language. In this technique, you first engage the students with an activity, then study the language technically, then the students use the language themselves. I was pleased to learn about the different types of ESA teaching, including the boomerang and patchwork technique. I am excited to get to know my students and learn which type of technique suits their learning best.
