This unit has provided me with an understanding and examples of the types of materials that are used in teaching which are creative and authentic. Creative materials are designed by the teacher, often taken from course books but changed and altered for the best outcomes from the students. Authentic materials are anything you would hear or read like radio programs, newspapers or film on video. These materials are real and therefore more interesting for the students also they can be altered to the particular interests students. I can identify the advantages and disadvantages of the use of course books and their best use.
