There are three different tenses in English: the past, the present and the future. Each of these tenses has four aspects: simple, continuous, perfect and perfect continuous. This gives us tenses such as present simple, present perfect etc. In total there are twelve tenses which many students find them intimidating. As EFL teachers, we need to bear in mind four vital areas in teaching: form, usages, typical students errors. and activate stage teaching ideas.
