Like the grammar lesson, I found myself discovering terminology for concepts that were already innate to me. This helped me put into perspective which techniques I use most heavily as well as which I've found are most effective with the students I currently work with. More importantly, I learned proper lesson structures. I struggled in the past to decide what order to present materials in, and the Engage-Study-Activate methods helped give me better ideas on how to more effectively use the activities & learning techniques I already used. On top of that, I also have a few new lesson ideas from what was presented in the text. Insight on corrections will also help in the future. I was unsure as to when/how to best correct students, and now I have more ideas on how to go about doing so. I did know that praise and encouragement was important, so it was nice to see that emphasized.
