Here Below you can check out the feedback (for one of our units) of one of the 16.000 students that last year took an online course with ITTT!

The objective of this Unit is to introduce the ESA method, which is the preferred method of ITTT. ESA stands for Engage, Study and Activate. The Engage phase is the warm up time where the emphasis is to get students thinking and speaking in English without introducing new language mechanics. The Study phase is where new vocabulary or language mechanics are introduced and explained using such techniques as elicitation, presentation, drilling and worksheets as well as explaining and correcting mistakes and errors. The Activate phase is where students are encouraged to use any and all of the language they know in an engaging activity. The goal is for students to use the language as freely and communicatively as possible, with a primary focus on fluency over accuracy. Finally this lesson covered the three ways to use ESA phases. These are the "straight arrow" method, the "boomerang" method and the "patchwork" method. The "straight arrow" is best for low level learners and progresses in a straightforward and logical manner. However, to reduce monotony in lessons the "boomerang" and "patchwork" methods can be utilized as long as the lessons always begin with the Engage phase and end with the Activate phase.
