In this unit, I learned about the different methodologies of teaching English learners. The preferred method for teaching is ESA, or Engage, Study, Activate. The unit also gave examples of the flow of an ESA lesson, including Straight Arrow, Boomerang, and Patchwork. The most useful portion of the unit for me was the many ideas for each stage of ESA. Sometimes I have a hard time coming up with engaging, relevant ideas, so in the future, I will be glad to reference these ideas for the stages of ESA.
