When teaching tense in class students are often confused when to use what tense and look to their instructors for guidance. Being confused leads to the student being unsure as to when to the usage of the tense. In japan the tense system is simple and when students encounter the complex tense of the English language they often make mistakes. I believe that when students use the tense through activates, they will become more comfortable and confident in speaking, writing and comprehension of these grammar rules. I think for this to happen, teachers and language assistants must have a strong and unshakeable foundation in the grammar usage so that students feel comfortable that they aren’t being taught the wrong information and that they will be corrected if they aren’t.
