I've known that having a lesson plan is a good idea, but now I have a better idea of the true benefits of taking the time to develop and the best methods for developing a plan. For an inexperienced teacher, I think the course material section is a good idea. Searching on the Internet for course material is usually my last resort, because of the lack of testing. I agree with most of what was in there. Having a published material prepared for teaching definitely has it's benefits. I think the most valuable section for me was the Classroom Management section. I'm terrible at classroom management currently. Looking at your points in the reading, I see why I have failed to control my classroom well.
