This unit covers level testing and the five-level scale, including an example of a level test for the older age band. It also covers advice on to carry out a needs analysis, providing a questionnaire that could be given to students as part of this process; limiting factors as to what can be taught; and the four types of syllabi (in terms of what they are based around). In addition, the six types of tests (for different purposes) are described as well as the main standardized tests (CYLE) for young learners and the merits of course evaluations.
I learned the main factors to take into account when designing a syllabus, and learned of useful websites to refer to when creating tests and syllabi.
