This was a brutal chapter. The terminology alone was enough to make my head to spin. I understand the critical value in teaching pronunciation, but still... But then, to make matters worse, was the inclusion of the phonemic alphabet. This was nothing like the phonetics I learned looking in a dictionary. I am also not totally convinced that in order to learn one language, one needs to learn a pronunciation language, but I can understand why it could be of value.
