This unit discusses the types and purposes of various types of testing. Placement tests are given at before starting a school to determine the level students should be in. Diagnostic tests are similar and show what students know and what they don't know in order to shape the curriculum. Progress tests check if learning has occurred. External exams are for acceptance at jobs or universities. Practice tests are given prior to external exams so students can prepare for the format. I did not find this unit to be very useful as it was just a few basic descriptions of different test types.
