The 'Managing Classes' unit covers a wide range of options for class layouts, student management and behaviour. However, the extent of alternatives both in terms of students personalities and the teaching environment offers a bewildering combination of choices which can make it difficult to identify the optimum approach. Some behavioural recommendations regarding student / teacher interaction such as personal attitude, and rapport might seem to be self evident, but there is less clarity in other areas such as the relative value of STT versus TTT. Overall, the unit does provide a lot of alternatives that can be used for class management within a complex environment which needs careful analysis so as to obtain the best results.
