Managing classes is one of the toughest jobs of a teacher, learning on how to do it correctly would take time and lots of effort. Knowing the suggested and appropriate techniques for handling classes would enable the teacher to have an easy and manageable class. In this unit, it is clearly discussed that in order to make the class engaging and lively, the teacher should build rapport with his/her learners. factors such as eye contact, gestures and tone voice are necessary to let the learners feel that they are belonged and encourage motivation. It is also important that the teacher should know his/her learners' name in order to get their attention. The classroom setting is also a plus factor in managing the class, this is to give the students the equal amount of attention and to maintain discipline. It is also good to know that there are a lot of ways in grouping the students such as whole class grouping, students working on their own, pairwork, and group work, a teacher could choose among these grouping student techniques to ensure that students could practice self-reliance and collaboration. Teacher talk time is also important in the class but the teacher should also bear in mind the student talk time is more important, so that the learners could have an opportunity to engage and use the target language. A teacher should also consider giving instructions to learners should be simple but clear. There are also reasons why a learner misbehaves in the class, it will be good for a teacher to look for the root cause of this misbehavior even though it is out of our hands. A teacher should as much as possible prevent this to occur in his/her class. If a problem like misbehaving is definitely out of hand already, a teacher should take it and respond to it professionally by acting immediately, keeping calm and remind the learner about the school rules in a subtle but firm way.
