It was surprising for me to learn that there are many types of tests offered by organisations like Cambridge to evaluate and assess the english language level of students. Even though I believe that tests and ranking students on a standardised scale is not completely appropriate, I see the benefit of having some form of assessment to place the students in appropriate classes so the learning is effective for them.
