Having studied another language with an entirely different grammatical system, I can fully appreciate the difficulty that can come with expressing oneself clearly and precisely in writing - compared to the fluency aims of spoken word. I think this would present a challenge to students (like myself in high school and university) that tend to believe that fluency comes before accuracy. While I think being an engaging teacher that encourages experimentation with new language will come naturally to me, I also believe I need to work on my own English accuracy in order to inspire my students to perform to their best and receive role model instruction.
