Why choose TEFL Certification with ITTT: No Degree Required, No Age Limit

Is a lack of teaching experience or relevant qualifications holding you back from starting a new career as an EFL teacher, or are you worried that you might be too old to find employment? Well, don’t be. As the demand for new teachers is so strong in many parts of the world, there are plenty of jobs available no matter what your age or background. Previous teaching experience is rarely a requirement for the majority of positions. The truth is that the vast majority of people currently teaching English around the world had no experience of teaching before they landed their current role. Academic qualifications are also not necessary in many cases. Teaching jobs in some countries are restricted to degree holders only, but there are many others without any such regulations.

Age is also a concern for some TEFL trainees. However, while a handful of countries have a mandatory retirement age for teachers, the vast majority of popular locations are open to TEFL qualified teachers of all ages. At ITTT we have trained many thousands of people over 50 years old and beyond who have gone on to enjoy a successful career in classrooms worldwide. Regardless of your age, background, or academic record, you are welcome on any of our TEFL courses as it’s our experience that every fluent English speaker has the potential to become a great teacher.

No Teaching Experience, No Problem

Many trainees ask us how it is possible to teach English in a foreign country without having any previous classroom experience. The bottom line is that it would be very difficult if you have not completed a TEFL certification course. With a TEFL course under your belt you will have learned all the basic knowledge and skills you need to take that first step into the classroom with confidence.
