There are several different ways in English language that you can talk about the future. Expressing the future time in English may become very challenging for students because there are so many different forms to choose from. There are traditional future tenses, such as future simple, future continuous, future perfect and future perfect continuous, which obviously require teaching forms and usages. Moreover, there are other tenses and structures with future applications - present simple (for timetables and schedules), present continuous (for definite arrangements) and be going to+infinitive (for attentions and plans) that are also very commonly used. Taking into consideration all this variety, teachers should be very consistent in teaching the future, give clear instructions and be ready to deal with mistakes.
