This unit covered the past tenses: past simple, past continuous, past perfect, and past perfect continuous. Past simple is the most common: "I went to the store, I bought chips." Past continuous is also fairly common: "While we were skiing, she was snowboarding." Past perfect is less common, and it was really helpful for me to hear it described as the "past in the past." An example would be "She had already visited Rome." Past perfect continuous, the rarest and clumsiest of them all: "He had been walking for days before he collapsed." This unit helped me gain further clarity and comfort with the present tenses as well, through seeing the commonalities between past and present perfect, continuous, etc.
