This unit was very different in that it was a couple of actual classes that had been filmed. The first video was of a really disorganized and badly prepared class with a teacher who was rude and also flustered. The teacher barely greeted the students and he did not explain the lesson well so the students were confused and intimidated by him especially as he was sarcastic if they gave the wrong answers. In the second the teacher had prepared his lesson ahead and was friendly towards the students. He did not use negative feedback towards the students and did not make them lose face. He gave much better instructions and checked that the students understood an activity before he asked them to do it on their own. He also checked their understanding or pronunciation individually unlike in the first class. This unit has underlined the need to be prepared and friendly to the students and to repeat an exercise ( or one like it) until they understand the topic.
