This unit was about conditionals and reported speech: possibilities, the potential consequences and their retelling in English. Based on my experience as an English tutor, this is one of the hardest lessons for ESL students as it deals with a lot of hypothetical situations and a combination of different verb tenses. Aside from giving a number of clear examples for each conditional, I have found that labeling the specific verb tenses in the clauses is very helpful to ESL students. ESL students usually ask for or come up with charts that contain the necessary grammatical structures. For this, the tables and diagrams included in the unit are very useful.
