In this lesson, I learned the future tenses. It includes the future simple, the future continuous, the future perfect, the future perfect continuous, be going to, the present simple, the present continuous.
Future simple, usages include future facts and certainties, promises, predictions. Teaching ideas are fortune telling, with present simple in time clauses, going on a holiday, wining a lottery.
Future continuous, usages are to say that something will be in progress at a particular moment in the future, to predict the present to say what we think or guess might be happening now. For polite enquiries referring to other people's plans, but not influence the listeners, to refer to future events. Teaching ideas, arranging diaries, trying to get out of the date.
Future perfect, is used to say that something will have been done, completed, or achieved by a certain time in the future. Teaching ideas, fill in future diaries, choose a famous historical personage and note down important dates in his or her life.
Future perfect continuous, we can use this to say how long something will have continued by a certain time.
Be going to is used on intentions, predictions based on present evidence, plans. Teaching ideas are making holidays, going to game.
Present simple, usages are to suggest a more formal situation, for time tables and schedules, to suggest a more impersonal tone.
Present continuous, is for definite arrangement, for decisions plans without a time frame. Teaching ideas are diaries and role play.
