This unit was focused on the roles of Teachers and learners. The lesson broke down the roles of teachers be segmenting them into 9 categories of roles, whereas the roles of learners was broken down into 8 roles. I was able to learn that teachers play many roles in the classroom and each role leads to helping the student. Students can be broken into the categories Young learner and Adult, and with each of these categories there are different levels of motivation, language ability and behaviors a teacher will be faced with. This lesson also covered the definitions of different learning levels. I feel like I have learned a great deal about the many roles a teacher has to play and this has helped me question what my favorite roles are as a teacher. I value the roles of Organizer, Manager, Promoter and Assessor the most in the classroom. By making note of the different roles I can also be more aware of how to work on the other roles in the classroom as well.
