This unit covered teaching different groups. Teaching young beginners versus adult beginners, children versus business people, etc. requires different approaches by the teacher. Children generally require shorter, more varied and fun lessons to keep their attention and help motivate them to participate and learn. Adult learners are generally more motivated to learn and study, but may have the added pressure and stress of a job and family. Younger learners absorb things faster than older learners, but some key things to being successful with students is to have a good, positive attitude, make the classes interesting and fun, and try to make the lessons relevant to the students' interests.
