This unit was necessary in order to think about all the different parts of teaching English. We have learned a lot about the different parts of grammar up to this point but I found it enlightening to be brought into the writing arena. The reasons for communicating were interesting as they work for both speaking and writing. Even though speaking is easier to get the students engaged in, the same motivations will get them writing. I feel like I could use more ideas for teaching writing skills.
