This unit teaches Receptive skills both reading and listening. It outlines the 2 reasons we read and listen ie for a purpose and for entertainment. I also learned the skills we apply when reading and listening eg skimming and deduction. I learned the potential problems with learning receptive language and then how to develop a lesson to teach these skills. It provided examples of lessons for receptive skills using the ESA patchwork format. I particularly enjoyed the tasks that were given where examples were provided, because it made the task very clear.
