In this lesson, I learned conditionals and reported speech. Conditionals, these are sentences containing'if' which refer to past, present and future possibilities. The five main conditionals are as follows: Zero Conditionals, the form is if/when+present tense, present tense. It refers to action and facts that are irrefutable. First Conditionals, the form is if+present simple, will. This talks about a 'real' situation in the future that is possible, probable or even certain, once the condition has been satisfied. Second Conditionals, the form is if+past simple, would/could/might+base form. Communicates a present or future 'unreal', hypothetical situation that is presently not true and is unlikely ever to be true. Third Conditionals, the form is if+past perfect, would/could/might/+have+past participle. Refer to a hypothetical past action and the hypothetical past consequence/result. Mixed Conditionals, the form is if+past perfect, would+base form. This mix refers to a hypothetical past action or state, and the hypothetical present consequence. And there are some teaching ideas, split sentences, complete the conditionals, chain conditionals, what a question, nuclear bunker role play, what would happen if...? Reported speech and direct speech. I learned the verb changes of when we reported others' speech. And there also modified if back shifting. Some teaching ideas, intermediaries, reporting verbs, media interviews.
