They will a quick review of the work done since the last meeting, goals of the lessons, students' performance on the different tasks given and some feedback from students about any content that might need clarification. The evaluation by students involves a questionnaire or guided discussion where they can give feedback as to what they consider has worked and areas that need improvement in the course. Testing is the most common process to assess students' progress, weaknesses, growth, level of proficiency and/or need of review. Tests are divided according to the goal the aim for. This division includes Placement Tests used periodically and to determine the level of English proficiency at the beginning of a course, looking to determine the best level for the student to start the course at; Progress Tests used to evaluate the learning process of each student, they aim to all four skills, the knowledge that has been acquired so far and the areas that need reviewing; Diagnostic Test which are used to determine the level of knowledge of the students and to help the teacher plan and prepare the lessons accordingly; Practice Test which can be used as assessment for level of knowledge or as a preparation tool for external examinations; and finally the external examinations. External examinations are used mostly to apply for higher education courses, as a tool for businesses to evaluate the proficiency level of applicants, as language level evaluation for visa requirements. The most known include the TOEFL, IELTS and all Cambridge Assessments among others.
