The content of this unit focuses on theories and methods that have been used in teaching and learning throughout the years. Although there are many methods and techniques that have proven to be useful for different learners, the one that this course is based on is the ESA method. (Engage-Sudy-Activate). It is, as this unit explains, the most effective of all methodologies as it comprises many characteristics that facilitate the learning of a language, such as board work and role play for example. Engaging the learners during the class is essential because it allows them to get involved and interested in the language and will also allow the teacher to assess what the students might need to work on in order to progress. I've learned how useful the ESA method is for learners as it is the most complete and thorough all while allowing the students to gain interest in the language because of the strong presence of activities.
