Not much thought is put into how much detail and planning goes into preparing a lesson from the view as a non-teacher. The amount of preparation for one lesson is immense. Planning a lesson, in my opinion, is a great way to keep the focus on what you are trying to teach but, you should also have the freedom to change or adapt to your students level of knowledge. Being able to make these changes when needed will make the classroom less engaging and keep the students focused on the message you are trying to teach.
