This Unit teaches me two things about tense system. We make choices in the system according to what we want to mean and what effect we want to have on the listener. The tense system carries far more in the way of meaning than simply indicating time. The second thing is that the time adverbials we choose affect the naturalness of tense choices and I believe, as a teacher, I can give hints and guidelines as to how the tenses are used.
