That was a revelation to me that present simple and present continuous tenses in certain cases can act as future tense. Basically, the sentence “ Train arrives at 5 pm” can be identified with present and future at the same time. Or present continuous form of “I am leaving you” also represents this duality: I just made a decision to leave you, but it doesn’t mean I have to leave right now. I can leave tomorrow, or next week or any other time that I will find convenient. There are these minor details that actually make a huge difference and grant particular freedom to the speaker. Future perfect continuous tense on the other hand is a real brain-twister and,in my opinion, don’t have a bright future of active application in the contemporary language that is getting more and more simple with every decade. The students, however, are obliged to study it and be aware of it nonetheless.
