Personally, it is easier for me to learn from the text, but it was nice to have a video demonstration. It was a little more difficult to keep track of what "phase" was going on, and how the students were feeling since they weren't saying how they felt, and I don't know what culture they were in. As I said, I do prefer the text for explanations, but I did appreciate the video to physically show me what was going on, even though there was little explanation or reference.
