This unit gave a thorough discussion of lesson planning for an ESL lesson. I really enjoyed the breakdown of the elements that belong in a lesson, and the lesson plan was particularly useful in that it provided me with a visual to follow a potential lesson. Keeping with the Engage, Study, Activate model of a lesson seems easier to follow when looking at the laid out lesson plan! The big take away here, for me, was the flexibility. It is so easy to get caught up in the mentality of things must be finished right then in that classroom, but in reality, sometimes a class delves a bit deeper or takes a bit longer to learn something, and it is important to be able to work with those needs/wants.
