Here Below you can check out the feedback (for one of our units) of one of the 16.000 students that last year took an online course with ITTT!

In this unit, we focused on the techniques to teach a new language. First, we covered teaching new vocabulary. This includes how to select the new vocabulary and after selecting, which techniques to use for teaching. This follows a standard Engage-Study-Activate structure. Second, we moved on to introducing new grammatical structures. How you teach this will depend on the level of your class, however, this unit showed us well structured techniques for teaching. There is a straight forward technique of teaching which is Engage-Study-Activate. A very common method used is the patchwork method, which allows the teacher to observe where the students are struggling and tailor the lesson to fit their needs. This structure can be in different orders, however, it is important to note that it will always start with an engage and end with an activate. Lastly, we covered the functions of teaching languages. These include inviting, refusing, agreeing and others. The common technique used to teach this lesson is a boomerang type. This follows the structure Engage-Activate=Study-Activate. It is important to utilize role-playing activities for this. What I found most beneficial from this unit is a method in which to strategically select vocabulary to teach. I am also a foreign language learner and I find vocabulary difficult sometimes because the words chosen don't fit the lesson well. I will make sure to not let that happen while I am planning my classes.
