This unit was comprised of two separate class lessons. The two lessons were completely contrasting. In the first lesson, the teacher was both rude and did not proceed in teaching the course with a good structure. When the students answered incorrectly, he would make snide remarks that would definitely make students no longer want to participate. This was apparent because there was very little participation by the students. In the second video, the teacher had a well structured lesson plan and had a complete different attitude. He was smiling and supportive and this made the students want to participate in the class. What I learned most from this unit is what not to do in the classroom and the importance of a positive attitude and structure. It is now clear to me how my actions as a teacher could dramatically make a difference in the classroom atmosphere.
