In this unit, we covered the importance and method of creating a lesson plan. First we focused on how a lesson plan should be written down. Some examples would be keeping it simple and to not script it. The teacher must leave space for adaptation depending on how the class is going. Next, we focused on the importance of being organized before starting a lesson. Some things to pay attention to are the to make sure you have your lesson plan and take the time to go through it to make sure you have everything you will need for the class. Basically, make sure the classroom and yourself are in order before you start teaching. Finally, we focused on what should be included in a lesson plan. Some examples of this would be, the learners objectives, what the will be able to do at the end of the lesson, teaching aids and materials, anticipated problems, etc. What i learned the most from this lesson is that I need to go back to lesson three and re study the phases of a lesson which are Engage, Study and Activate. After looking through the lesson plan provided in the unit, and going back to lesson 3, I feel I have a better understanding. In short, unit 9 has showed me a weakness and through this weakness I can now clearly see the structure of a lesson plan.
