I am constantly creating supplemental materials and unauthentic texts for my students to use. The textbook we currently use isn’t even specifically designed for English Learners—its simply designed for low readers, so there are a lot of gaps my students have. Therefore, I try to address their needs by creating materials and game for the students to practice different areas that they are struggling in. I like the telephone game in this unit. I think this is a great way for students to practice speaking, saying numbers, dates, and times, and thinking off the top of their head. Some scenarios might be too difficult for my students, but I would love to try this activity with them soon.
