I have found that it is very difficult to learn something if there isn't an occasional test to see where your progress currently is. While learning Korean, because I am doing it on my own, it is hard to test my own knowledge of something and I am constantly looking for quizzes online that can provided me with a progress report of what I myself need to work on. I found testing to be important, but also should not be solely relied upon because not all students test the same. Some students are better at taking tests than others, so it is really important for the teacher to pay attention in class in order to really understand where the students are succeeding and lacking.
